Oct. 15th, 2003 06:48 pmMy wedding dress just got here. There are a few minor issues I have with the seamstressing. Well, one of them is not so "minor," but I believe it to be fixable nonetheless. The trim is uneven in the front in a way that makes me look lopsided and uneven. The buttons in the back are not straight by any stretch of the imagination. And the hem is slightly too short in the front.
But you know what? All that is fixable. The dress is gorgeous.
On me? It looks like a nightmare. I cannot get married. Not in this dress.

Date: 2003-10-15 06:21 pm (UTC)If you don't know a good seamstress down there, someone at work referred me to someone up here who supposedly does wonders, and does them quickly and not overly expensively. I planned on calling him after the weekend is over (and after I figured out which undies to wear with)... let me know if you want to come with me?
Oh, and really crappy news. Just got off the phone with mom - Saturday is going to have to be me and munchkin. Both possible sitters are busy, the friend-from-school's mom is working, mom is going to be in campaign mode with the good weather, dad is working, and my grandparents are sick. So it looks like it's me and munchkin (which super sucks... but, I promise, I'll make it up!!!) To top off the "man, that sucks" factor - the fair that I was trying to squeeze in isn't open on Sunday - so, we won't be going there either.
Anyway, let me know if want me to talk to the seamstress (wait, it's a man who does women's clothes, so he wouldn't be a tailor, would he?What would that be called?? UGH!)... and see what he says about your dress.
*smooches* and apologies all over the place.
